Basketball Recap: Northfield Victorious

After losing to ThunderRidge the last time they met, Northfield decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Nighthawks came out on top against the Grizzlies by a score of 78-66 on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Nighthawks.

Judah Michael had a dynamite game, putting up 39 points. Those 39 points gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Evo Montoya, who posted 15 points.

When it comes to explaining why ThunderRidge lost, don't look at Drew Paine. Despite the final result, he shot 75% from the field on his way to 29 points and seven boards. Paine is on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last three games he's played dating back to last season. Sam Walkowiak was another key player, going 5-for-7 to rack up 12 points and five assists.

Northfield's record is now 2-0. As for ThunderRidge, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Coming up, Northfield will be taking part in a tournament against Kent Denver at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for ThunderRidge, they will be playing at home against Broomfield at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
