Preview: Lake City Panthers vs. Kingstree Blazers

The Lake City Panthers will stay at home for another game and welcome the Kingstree Blazers at 6:30 p.m. on December 12th. Hopefully Lake City focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Saturday.

Lake City's 19-7 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They were dealt a 84-53 loss at the hands of Atlantic Collegiate Academy. While losing is never fun, Lake City can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 167th, while Atlantic Collegiate Academy is ranked third).

Lake City's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Bryson Rose, who scored 12 points along with 6 steals, and Blayne Edwards who scored 13 points. The contest was Rose's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Jayden Graham was another key contributor, scoring 7 points along with 6 rebounds.

Meanwhile, Kingstree entered their tilt with Hemingway with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Kingstree breezed by Hemingway at home to the tune of 73-41.

It was another big night for Micheal Kelly, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 10 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ashton Woods, who scored 8 points along with 4 steals.

Lake City has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for Kingstree, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.

Tuesday's contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Lake City hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 52.6 points per game. It's a different story for Kingstree, though, as they've been averaging only 63.4 per game. The only thing between Lake City and another offensive beatdown is Kingstree. Will they be able to keep them contained? Come back here after the game to get analysis of the match and other basketball content.

Lake City took their victory against Kingstree in their previous meeting back in January by a conclusive 75-50. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Kingstree's Nicolas Brown, who scored 16 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 steals. Now that he won't be playing on Tuesday, will it be that much easier for Lake City to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
