After flying high against Cornerstone Christian last Friday, Mt. Pulaski came back down to earth. The Hilltoppers took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Athens Warriors on Wednesday. The Hilltoppers' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Mt. Pulaski's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 16-4. As for Athens, their victory bumped their record up to 9-10.

Coming up, Mt. Pulaski will square off against Pawnee at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Athens, they will venture away from home to square off against Midwest Central at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Raiders have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.16 runs per game on average), something the Warriors will no doubt try to take advantage of.
