Softball Recap: Ridgeline Comes Up Short in High-Profile Contest with Bear River

Ridgeline faced Bear River in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Riverhawks fell just short of the Bears by a score of 7-6. It was the first time this season that the Riverhawks let down their fans at home.

Anne Wallace and Kylie Jorgensen did some serious damage despite the final result: Wallace went 2-for-4 with one home run, while Jorgensen scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. Aubrey Kidman also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Ridgeline's loss dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Bear River, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ridgeline will take on Bingham at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Riverhawks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Miners have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season. As for Bear River, they will square off against Box Elder at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Bears 2.6, the Bees 2.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
