Volleyball Recap: Harvard Cardinals vs. Lawrence-Nelson Raiders

Harvard was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They fell 2-0 to the Lawrence-Nelson Raiders. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Raiders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 back in September.

While Harvard ultimately came up short, they really made Lawrence-Nelson work, particularly in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 27-25, 25-17.

Tabi Forney paced Harvard's offense, picking up ten kills. Forney got some help from Haley Gimpel and her eight assists. Forney was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Lawrence-Nelson found their leader in sophomore Victoria Koehler, who had six digs and six aces. Those six aces set a new season-high mark for Koehler. Hadley Ostdiek also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

Harvard's defeat dropped their record down to 3-23. As for Lawrence-Nelson, the victory snapped their losing streak at six matches and leaves them with a 6-20 record.

Harvard does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Lawrence-Nelson has already played their next matchup (against Giltner), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
