Softball Recap: Windsor Academy Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Windsor Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over the Howard Huskies on Tuesday. With that victory, the Knights brought their scoring average up to 6.4 runs per game.

Abagail 'Abby' Price made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in September of 2024. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

In other batting news, Windsor Academy got a big performance out of Lily Perry, who went 2-for-3 with three runs and one triple. Those three runs gave Perry a new career-high. Kyndall Bowen also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Windsor Academy's record now sits at 2-3. As for Howard, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

When Windsor Academy and Howard next hit the field, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. The Knights will try to stop Central's three-game winning streak when they meet at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Howard will face off against West Laurens and their five-game winning streak at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
