Basketball Recap: Jamier Jones Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Blake

On Saturday, the Oak Ridge Pioneers beat the Blake Yellow Jackets 70-62. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Pioneers.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Oak Ridge to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jamier Jones, who went 8 for 11 on his way to 21 points along with eight rebounds and six assists. Jones' evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Jalen Reece was another key player, going 7 of 13 en route to 21 points and seven boards.

Several Yellow Jackets players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jason Johnson, who posted 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Joshua Lewis, who had 13 points and eight rebounds.

Oak Ridge's victory bumped their record up to 15-8. As for Blake, they moved to 20-4 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

As of now, neither Oak Ridge nor Blake have any future games scheduled.
