The Santa Fe Raiders will take on the West Port Wolf Pack at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Santa Fe is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
Santa Fe is headed into the matchup having just suffered their biggest defeat since March 12, 2024 on Tuesday. They came up short against Columbia, falling 12-2.
Angel Irizarry was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 3-for-3. What's more, he also posted three hits, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Nate Robertson also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Meanwhile, while West Port put up plenty of runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Eastside. West Port put the hurt on Eastside with a sharp 16-0 win. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Wolf Pack's hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.
Kaiden Lavery looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and only two hits over four innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, West Port got a massive performance out of Ricardo Soto, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Ahmari Dixon, who scored three runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
West Port always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .690. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Eastside only posted an OBP of .294.
West Port's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Santa Fe, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 1-3.
