Basketball Recap: Jj Arrowood's Big Game Can't Quite Lead East Rutherford over Patton

East Rutherford fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Patton on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 74-66 to the Patton Panthers. The defeat continues a trend for the Cavaliers in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now lost eight in a row.

East Rutherford's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jj Arrowood, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 boards. Blake Suttle was another key player, going 8 of 13 on his way to 17 points and seven boards.

East Rutherford's record is now 2-11. As for Patton, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-8.

East Rutherford will face off against Hendersonville at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Hendersonville is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 70.3 points per game this season. As for Patton, they will square off against R-S Central at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Patton knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully R-S Central likes a good challenge.
