Volleyball Recap: Riverton Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Riverton and Holton squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Riverton had to settle for second. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats. The Rams' defeat signaled the end of their 13-game winning streak.

Avery Barnett paced Riverton's offense, picking up six kills. Barnett got some help from Ava Price and her eight assists.

Holton found their leader in sophomore Faith Olberding, who had 14 digs and 12 assists. Olberding has been hot recently, having posted 12 or more assists the last three times she's played.

Riverton's loss dropped their record down to 37-5-1. As for Holton, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 36-9.

Riverton has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Hoisington on the 30th. As for Holton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Osage City on the 30th.
