Baseball Recap: Clarkston Wins Going Away Against East Valley

Clarkston was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against East Valley on Saturday. The Bantams blew past the Knights 10-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 15-1 back in March.

Hayden Line made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. Clarkston is 2-1 when Line posts eight or more strikeouts, but 3-7 otherwise. Line was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Jace Cometto was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. Caddis Sevey was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Clarkston hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as East Valley struck out 13 times.

Clarkston's victory bumped their record up to 5-8. As for East Valley, they are on a 20-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-13.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Clarkston beat the Knights by a score of 13-3 later that day.
