Baseball Game Preview: Mountain View Bears vs. Dacula Falcons

Mountain View and Dacula are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2018, but likely not for long. The Mountain View Bears will challenge the Dacula Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

On Monday, Mountain View needed a bit of extra time to put away Dacula. They won by a run and slipped past the Falcons 7-6. Seven seems to be a good number for the Bears as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Mountain View got a great performance from TJ Thompson as he struck out 11 batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits (and only one walk).

On the hitting side, Mountain View saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Andrew Brech, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-5. The dominant performance gave Brech a new career-high in hits. Nick Clayborn also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Mountain View's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-4. As for Dacula, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Mountain View has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.1 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Dacula struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.2 strikeouts.
