Basketball Game Preview: Compton Tarbabes vs. Northview Vikings

The Compton Tarbabes will face off against the Northview Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Last Wednesday, everything came up roses for Compton against Centennial as the team secured an 81-45 win. The victory continues a trend for the Tarbabes in their matchups with the Apaches: they've now won three in a row.

Compton found their leader in freshman Suavius Denem, who shot 55% from beyond the arc to rack up 34 points and three steals. Xavier Goodlow was another key player, going 7-for-12 en route to 18 points.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Northview). They simply couldn't be stopped on Saturday as they easily beat Garey 61-24. Northview not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since November 25, 2024 (when they won 76-33).

Northview's win bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Compton, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.
