Football Game Preview: Petal Panthers vs. D'Iberville Warriors + Official Tickets

The Petal Panthers will be playing at home against the D'Iberville Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

It was a proper cat-fight when Petal faced off against Northwest Rankin on Thursday. The Panthers took a 34-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cougars. While the Panthers had to settle for second, they closed the game well in the third quarter, where they outscored the Cougars 15-10.

Meanwhile, D'Iberville never let their opponents score on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Biloxi 28-0. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi football rankings (they are ranked 11th, while the Indians are ranked 60th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Petal better keep an eye on Jordan Walley. He was instrumental in D'Iberville's win, rushing for 120 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 7.5 yards per carry, and also throwing for 105 yards while completing 85.7% of his passes. Another player making a difference was Jaylen Johnson, who gained 50 total yards and two touchdowns.

D'Iberville's run defense was locked in: Biloxi could only muster 2.6 yards per carry. The team can thank Caleb Triplett for the heroic effort on defense: he. D'Iberville's ground attack was stronger, having averaged five.

D'Iberville's record now sits at 8-2. As for Petal, their loss dropped their record down to 7-4.
