Volleyball Recap: Monday's Victory Is Cicero Prep Academy's Eighth in Last Nine Outings

Cicero Prep Academy proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by three) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a set and slipped past the Veritas Prep Falcons 3-2. For the Centurions, this counts as revenge for the 3-0 win the Falcons walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.

The victory didn't come easy: Veritas Prep scored at least ten points in every set. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-21, 24-26, 20-25, 15-10.

Layla Hrabe went supernova, getting 24 assists and 15 digs. That's the most digs she has posted since back in September.

Cicero Prep Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 18 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in nine consecutive matches.

When it comes to explaining why Veritas Prep lost, don't look at Bella Espinosa. Despite the final result, she had 23 digs. Espinosa is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last 12 games she's played.

Cicero Prep Academy is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-9 record this season. As for Veritas Prep, they moved to 22-11 with that loss, which also ended their 12-match winning streak.

Cicero Prep Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Joseph City on the 30th. As for Veritas Prep, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against NFL Yet Academy on the 28th.
