Softball Recap: Tuesday's Victory Is North Miami's Eighth in Last Ten Outings

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Central Noble, North Miami was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Pioneer Panthers 10-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Warriors have posted since April 15th.

Erika Raber was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, Aricyn Hunt and Jordyn Hackworth did most of the damage at the plate: Hunt went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double, while Hackworth went 3-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Zoey Sparks, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

North Miami has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for Pioneer, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Miami will welcome Kokomo at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Pioneer, they will be playing at home against West Central at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Trojans have averaged an impressive 8.1 runs per game this season.
