Brandon Valley is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of South Dakota's top teams: Harrisburg, who was ranked fifth at the time (Brandon Valley was ranked first). The Lynx's defense stepped up to hand the Tigers a 24-0 shutout on Friday. The victory was just business as usual for the Lynx, who after eight games remain undefeated this season.

Meanwhile, Jefferson humbled Rapid City Central with a 52-10 victory. The Cavaliers haven't had any issues with the Cobblers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Brandon Valley's victory bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Jefferson, their win bumped their record up to 6-2.
