Baseball Game Preview: Marist War Eagles vs. Buford Wolves

The Marist War Eagles will head out on the road to challenge the Buford Wolves at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Marist will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.

Last Thursday, Marist got the win against Southwest DeKalb by a conclusive 13-3. Considering the War Eagles have won 14 contests by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Buford never let their opponents score on Friday. They walked away with a 4-0 victory over Discovery. The Wolves haven't had any issues with the Titans recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Marist is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Buford, they pushed their record up to 18-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Marist came out on top in a nail-biter against Buford when the teams last played back in February, sneaking past 8-7. The rematch might be a little tougher for the War Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
