Soccer Recap: Service Falls Short Against Ranked West Anchorage

Service faced West Anchorage in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Cougars took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against West Anchorage this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-0 back in April.

Service's goal came courtesy of Cameron Hickman, which was the first he's scored this season.

Service's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 7-6-1. As for West Anchorage, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 13-2-1.

Coming up, Service will host South Anchorage at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for West Anchorage, they didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next match, a 2-1 victory against Chugiak on the 18th.
