Poland fell victim to Yarmouth and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Clippers. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Knights' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Alex Mains spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered five runs (all of which were unearned) on six hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Poland is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-8 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Poland saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Will Stanford, who went 1-for-3 with one double. That double was Stanford's first of the season.

Poland's loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Yarmouth, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-4 record this season.
