Flag Football Recap: Lincoln Takes a Loss

Lincoln extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to nine on Thursday, dropping them down to 0-8. They had to suffer through a 34-0 loss at the hands of the Denver North Vikings. While losing is never fun, the Lancers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado flag football rankings (they are ranked 71st, while the Vikings are ranked 20th).

As for Denver North, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 8-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 29.1 points over those games.

Morgan Darlington went supernova, rushing for 101 yards and two TDs, while also catching one touchdown. She showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 63 yards.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lincoln will welcome Bruce Randolph at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Denver North, they will take on Manual at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Vikings will need to watch out since the Thunderbolts have now posted at least 31 points in their last seven games.
