Basketball Recap: The Daniel Academy Takes a Loss

The Daniel Academy was the 51-38 winner over Frontier School of Excellence when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Daniel Academy Lions fell 50-38 to Frontier School of Excellence on Thursday. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why The Daniel Academy lost, don't look at Noah Lee. Despite the final result, he posted 17 points along with seven boards and four steals. Those 17 points gave Lee a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Noah Maldinado, who scored 15 points.

Frontier School of Excellence's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Henry Uti led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds. Uti is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Nate Grayes was another key player, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 14 boards.

The Daniel Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Frontier School of Excellence, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-1.

The Daniel Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 55-36 loss against Chesterton Academy of St. Philip Neri on the 17th. Frontier School of Excellence has also already played their next match, a 58-51 defeat against St. Vincent de Paul Academy on the 22nd.
