Soccer Recap: LEAD Academy Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

LEAD Academy and Stem Preparatory Academy squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but LEAD Academy had to settle for second. They fell 2-0 to the Chargers. LEAD Academy were red-hot offensively heading into the matchup (they scored no less than four goals in the five matches prior), but Stem Preparatory Academy's defense proved too tough.

LEAD Academy's defeat ended a four-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-6. As for Stem Preparatory Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-6-1.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. LEAD Academy will venture away from home to square off against Merrol Hyde Magnet at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. LEAD Academy will need to watch out since Merrol Hyde Magnet have now posted at least four goals in their last three contests. As for Stem Preparatory Academy, they will look to defend their home pitch on Saturday against Smith County at 2:30 p.m. Smith County's defense has only allowed 0.4 goals per game this season, so Stem Preparatory Academy's offense will have their work cut out for them.
