Baseball Recap: Wallkill Comes Up Short

Wallkill had lost three straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped down to 4-6 to make it four. They fell just short of the Red Hook Raiders by a score of 10-9. Even though they lost, the Panthers' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.2 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Mason Franklin was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, he pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in May of 2025. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Anthony Daley was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-5 with one triple and two RBI. C.J. Blaison was another key player, going 2-for-5 with one run and one RBI.

As for Red Hook, the victory got them back to even at 5-5. The high-scoring effort was just what they needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

On Red Hook's side, the team relied heavily on Robert Paschal, who went 1-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan MacDonald, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Wallkill will challenge rival New Paltz at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Red Hook is set to square off against their familiar foe Roosevelt at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.
