Recap: Clinton Arrows vs. Raymond Rangers
The Clinton Arrows came tearing into Friday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 points) and they left with even more momentum. They took down Raymond 59-40. Given Clinton's advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 27th, while Raymond is ranked 182nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Jatoi Johnson was the offensive standout of the game as she dropped a double-double on 24 points and 14 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Aria Jones, who scored 11 points along with 5 rebounds.
Clinton's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Raymond, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.
Clinton will be playing at home against Northwest Rankin at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Raymond, they will head out on the road to face off against Meridian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meridian is on a three-game streak of home losses, Raymond a five-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change.
