Baseball Recap: Make It Six in a Row for Prescott

Prescott entered their tilt with Coconino on Thursday with five consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with six. They put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 15-3 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 11-1 last Tuesday.

Travis Gates made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-5.

In other batting news, Lucas Tobin was a standout: he scored two runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Colton Champion, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Prescott kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.

Prescott pushed their record up to 7-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Coconino, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-9-1.
