Baseball Recap: River Ridge Now 5-1 over Last Six Games

River Ridge has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 2.82 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Tuesday. They walked away with a 15-11 victory over the Citrus Hurricanes. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Royal Knights also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2017.

Hagen Conner was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his seven plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February.

In other batting news, Cameron Kessell was incredible, getting on base in four of his seven plate appearances with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jacob Yeager, who scored three runs while getting on base in five of his seven plate appearances.

River Ridge is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. Citrus has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.

River Ridge will head out to take on Cypress Creek at 7:00 p.m. on March 25th. River Ridge's pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so Cypress Creek's hitters will have their work cut out for them. Citrus has already played their next game (against Nature Coast Tech), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
