Football Game Preview: Minnechaug Regional Falcons vs. Central Golden Eagles

Minnechaug Regional hasn't had much luck against Central recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Falcons will take on the Golden Eagles at 6:00 p.m.

On Friday, Minnechaug Regional was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 20-14 to Westfield.

Meanwhile, Central waltzed into their game on Friday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They claimed a resounding 50-14 victory over the Spartans. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Golden Eagles' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts football rankings (they are ranked third, while the Spartans are ranked 129th).

Minnechaug Regional's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-3. As for Central, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.

Minnechaug Regional was dealt a bruising 49-0 defeat at the hands of Central in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Can the Falcons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
