Volleyball Recap: Keniah Verduzco Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Sanger

Clovis East lost to Sanger back in August, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Timberwolves had just enough and edged out the Apaches 2-1.

Clovis East's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Keniah Verduzco led the charge by getting six digs and two aces. Verduzco is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Anna Cheatham, who had 11 digs and two aces.

They weren't the only good server: Clovis East was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 12 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Clovis East's victory bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Sanger, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-7.

Clovis East wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Fresno Christian on the 13th. As for Sanger, they will square off against Frontier at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
