Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Cleveland

Cleveland extended their winning streak to three on Friday, bumping their season record up to 16-6 in the process. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Cibola Cougars a 10-0 shutout. The Storm not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since March 19th (when they won 16-6).

As for Cibola, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-8 record this season. The game marked the first time this season in which they were not able to get on the board.

For Cibola's part, they saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Escobedo, who went 1-for-3 with one double. Gavin Artis also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Cleveland is set to challenge their familiar foe Farmington at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Cibola will face off against rival Piedra Vista at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
