Milford hasn't had much luck against South Lyon East recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Mavericks will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Cougars at 4:00 p.m. Milford is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 12.5 runs per game this season.

South Lyon East will be up against a hot Milford squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. The Mavericks put the hurt on Summit Academy with a sharp 16-1 victory on Thursday.

Milford let Julia Brescol and Gabby Hawver run wild. Brescol got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs and one RBI, while Hawver got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two RBI and one run. Another player making a difference was Hana Scripture, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and one RBI.

Milford was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .310 or higher in three consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, South Lyon East lost 10-1 to Walled Lake Northern on Monday. The Cougars have struggled against the Knights recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Milford pushed their record up to 3-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for South Lyon East, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7.

Tuesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Milford has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .593. However, it's not like South Lyon East struggles in that department as they've averaged .448. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
