It's playoff time, and Plano East had no trouble coming through when it counted. They blew past the Eastlake Falcons 3-0 on Friday. Winning may never get old, but the Panthers sure are getting used to it with their eighth in a row.
Simone Heard paced Plano East's offense, picking up 27 kills. Heard got some help from Megan Nguyen and her 28 assists. Heard was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.
Despite the loss, Eastlake still got an impressive performance from Addison Carrillo, who had 19 digs and two assists. Carrillo is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last 16 games she's played.
Plano East's victory bumped their record up to 31-10. As for Eastlake, with the defeat, they broke their six-match winning streak and moved their record to 36-5.
Coming up, Plano East will face off against Byron Nelson at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Eastlake does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
