Basketball Recap: Holmes Comes Up Short

Holmes was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 19th straight defeat. They were beaten by the Harlan Hawks 91-48. The Huskies were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-19.

Several Huskies players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Junior Sanchez, who posted six points. Joseph Ramon was another key player, going 5 of 12 on his way to 15 points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Harlan to victory, but perhaps none more so than Zakee Thompson, who earned 12 points. Thompson is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryce Christian, who had 11 points.

Holmes' loss dropped their record down to 4-27. As for Harlan, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 18-10.

Holmes has already played their next matchup, a 109-20 defeat against Brennan on the 1st. As for Harlan, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 66-42 victory against Stevens on the 1st.
