Baseball Recap: Whitko Comes Up Short

Whitko extended their losing streak to three on Wednesday, dropping them down to 11-11. They lost 10-0 to the Peru Tigers. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Whitko saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Crew Ebbinghouse, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

As for Peru, their record now sits at 14-7. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won eight contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

On Peru's side, the team relied heavily on Isaac Braley, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and one stolen base. That's the most hits Braley has posted over his last 11 games. William Rodriguez was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four RBI.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Whitko will host Prairie Heights at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Peru, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Logansport at 5:30 p.m.
