Volleyball Recap: Holden Eagles vs. Lexington Minutemen
Holden's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Lexington Minutemen as the Holden Eagles made off with a 3-0 victory. The Eagles have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Minutemen, too.
Holden walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the third set). The final score came out to 25-18, 25-19, 25-11.
Krissa Bertz and Faith Atkins certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Bertz had ten digs, while Atkins had four digs, two kills, and two blocks.
Holden's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-10. As for Lexington, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10-2 record this season.
Holden will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Lafayette County at 7:00 p.m. Lafayette County will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Holden surely won't give up without a fight. As for Lexington, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat vs. Smithton on the 28th.
