Basketball Recap: Covenant Christian Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Covenant Christian won the last time they faced Covington and things went their way on Friday too. The Warriors were the clear victors by an 82-56 margin over the Trojans. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Warriors just coasted through the last quarter.

Covington lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Creux Rieman, who shot 50% from the field on his way to 16 points and five rebounds. His evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Nash Martin, who went 5-for-10 en route to 16 points.

The victory was the third in a row for Covenant Christian, bringing their record up to 3-0. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 81.3 points this season. As for Covington, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Covenant Christian will head out to take on Heritage Christian at 7:30 p.m. on the 13th. As for Covington, they and Faith Christian will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest, having both just played.
