Football Recap: Mandaree Comes Up Short at Home Against Drayton

Mandaree unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They had to suffer through an 80-0 loss at the hands of the Drayton Bombers. The loss continues a trend for the Warriors in their meetings with the Bombers: they've now lost five in a row.

Drayton's win on Saturday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Trenten Keena, who rushed for 69 yards and two touchdowns, and also picked up 57 receiving yards and one TD. Keena has been hot, having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last eight times he's played. Another signal caller making a difference was Max Foss-Pokrzywinski, who threw for 137 yards and three TDs while completing 71.4% of his passes.

Drayton pushed their record up to 7-0 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Mandaree does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Drayton, they will host Trenton/Trinity Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
