Football Game Preview: Frost Polar Bears vs. Mart Panthers

Frost is 0-7 against Mart since November of 2018 but things could change on Friday. The Polar Bears will be playing at home against the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Frost took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They claimed a resounding 63-13 victory over Hubbard. The win continues a trend for the Polar Bears in their matchups with the Jaguars: they've now won four in a row.

Meanwhile, Mart never let their opponents score on Friday. They breezed past Meridian to the tune of 70-0. The Panthers' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Mart's win came from a few key players Frost will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Carmelo Medlock, who rushed for 81 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only five carries. Ayden Lauderdale was another key player, throwing for 124 yards and three TDs while completing 83.3% of his passes.

Mart was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 258 rushing yards. They are a perfect 4-0 when they've run for more than 200 yards.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Mart's defense and their three sacks. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Andrew Wiley. He also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with eight.

Frost's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Mart, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

Frost was dealt a bruising 72-8 loss at the hands of Mart when the teams last played back in November of 2024. Thankfully for the Polar Bears, D'Angelo Rhodes (who rushed for 181 yards and one score on only 11 carries, and also threw for 298 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 12.4 yards per attempt) won't be suiting up this time.
