Basketball Game Preview: John Paul II Guardians vs. Bracken Christian Warriors

The John Paul II Guardians will head out to challenge the Bracken Christian Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in John Paul II's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

On Friday, John Paul II was fully in charge, breezing past Great Hearts Western Hills 81-50. The Guardians pushed the score to 74-35 by the end of the third, a deficit the Spartans cut but never quite recovered from.

DJ Miller had an outrageously good game as he dropped a double-double with 18 points and 11 assists. He is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 18 games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Marcus Taylor, who shot 67% from the field en route to 15 points and six boards.

They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: John Paul II was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since the start of last season.

Meanwhile, Bracken Christian had to suffer through a 70-36 loss at the hands of St. Stephen's Episcopal. The matchup marked the Warriors' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

John Paul II's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Bracken Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-3.
