Volleyball Recap: Vasquez Extends Winning Streak to Three

Vasquez waltzed into their match on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victor by a 3-0 margin over the Gorman Learning Charter - Antelope Valley Eagles. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 last Thursday.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Vasquez was: they took every set by at least 11 points. The final score came out to 25-12, 25-14, 25-3.

Vasquez's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Fernando Vazquez led the charge by hitting 100% for five kills and 12 digs and six aces. That's the most digs Vazquez has posted since back in April of 2024.

Vazquez wasn't the only good server: Vasquez was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in six consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Vasquez's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Gorman Learning Charter - Antelope Valley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Vasquez will welcome Rosamond at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Gorman Learning Charter - Antelope Valley, they will look to defend their home court on March 4th against The Palmdale Aerospace Academy at 4:00 p.m.
