Volleyball Game Preview: Southampton Indians vs. Windsor Dukes

Southampton has won five straight games at home, while Windsor has won five straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Wednesday. The Indians will host the Dukes at 5:30 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Southampton is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. Everything went their way against Franklin as they made off with a 3-0 win.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Southampton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Savannah Bryant, who had 12 digs and four aces. Bryant is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Paisley Benson, who had seven digs and four aces.

They weren't the only good servers: Southampton was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 25 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 16 aces in three consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Windsor made easy work of Appomattox Regional Governor's Arts & Tech on Monday and carried off a 3-0 victory.

While Windsor won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-22, 25-12.

Windsor's win bumped their record up to 16-6. As for Southampton, their victory bumped their record up to 15-8.

Everything went Southampton's way against Windsor in their previous matchup on Thursday, as Southampton made off with a 3-0 win. Do the Indians have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Dukes turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
