Volleyball Recap: Peyton Goodon Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Lindale

Canton posted their closest win since September 6th on Friday. They had just enough and edged out Lindale 3-2. The game was the first time Canton has beaten Lindale on their court since October 7, 2022.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (105-99) Canton actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The final score came out to 25-20, 15-25, 19-25, 25-23, 15-12.

Canton's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Peyton Goodon, who had 25 digs and two aces. That's the most digs Goodon has posted since back in September. Mallory Alexander was another key player, getting 24 assists and eight digs.

They weren't the only good servers: Canton was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lindale only served nine.

Canton's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 27-14. As for Lindale, their defeat ended a three-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 27-14.

Canton has already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Athens on the 21st. As for Lindale, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against Longview on the 21st.
