Football Recap: Summit Tigers vs. Conifer Lobos

Summit extended their losing streak to five on Friday, dropping them down to 1-7. They were outmatched by the Conifer Lobos and fell 49-6. The Tigers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Lobos from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

Summit didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Cesar Lozano and Axel Knipp. Henry Eslich was another major factor on D, picking up a sack, forcing one fumble, and making eight total tackles (2.0 for loss).

As for Conifer, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-1. The result was nothing new for the Lobos, who have now won seven contests by 35 points or more so far this season.

Conifer got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Charlie Ostrowski out in front who threw for 311 yards and four TDs on only 14 passes. Those 311 passing yards gave Ostrowski a new career-high. Mason Harrington was in the mix too, providing Conifer with two scores.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Summit will face off against rival Skyview at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Conifer is set to take on their familiar foe Green Mountain at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 870 yards in their previous games.
