Soccer Recap: Montgomery Has No Trouble Against Mar Vista

After failing to score in their last game, Montgomery made sure to put some goals up on the board against Mar Vista on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Mar Vista Mariners with a sharp 5-1 win. Considering the Aztecs' offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Montgomery's victory bumped their record up to 3-9-2. As for Mar Vista, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8-3.

Montgomery and Mar Vista could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. Montgomery will take on Sweetwater at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday down 493 places (838 vs. 345). Meanwhile, Mar Vista (ranked 1035th) will meet San Ysidro (ranked 395th) at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
