Softball Recap: Lincoln Park Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Niles West, Lincoln Park was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Northside Mustangs.

Ella Miller made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, Eleanor Funke was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high.

Lincoln Park's win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-1. As for Northside, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Coincidentally, Lincoln Park and Northside will both be playing Taft the next time they take the field. The Mustangs will head out to face the Eagles at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Lions will play them later in the day, at 11:00 a.m.
