Football Game Preview: Pomona Panthers vs. Thompson Valley Eagles + How To Watch

The Pomona Panthers will face off against the Thompson Valley Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Pomona will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last.

Pomona is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Fort Morgan 65-14. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won five contests by 40 points or more so far this season.

Luis Santana produced another solid performance rushing for 212 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 10.6 yards per carry. What's more, he posted two rushing touchdowns, the most he's had since back in October of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Tucker Ingersoll, who threw for 145 yards and two TDs while completing 80% of his passes.

Meanwhile, Thompson Valley unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 34-22 hit to the loss column at the hands of Roosevelt. The defensive woes were uncharacteristic for the Eagles, who until this matchup were averaging 11.33 points allowed.

Pomona will have to keep a close watch on Brayden Wall and Finley Lucas, a pair of players who had a big impact on Thompson Valley's prior game. Wall picked up 85 receiving yards and a pair of scores, while Lucas threw for 165 yards and two touchdowns. Wall showed off some serious burst, cutting upfield on a catch for 59 yards. Karter Christiansen handled things on the ground, rushing for 80 yards.

Pomona pushed their record up to 8-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 46.3 points over those games. As for Thompson Valley, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 7-2.
