Basketball Recap: Verona Comes Up Short

Verona was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 50-48 heartbreaker at the hands of the Hurley Tigers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wildcats of the 51-48 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.

Verona's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 3-7. As for Hurley, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Verona wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 66-62 loss against Spokane on the 26th. As for Hurley, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 53-33 defeat against Pierce City on the 26th.
