Volleyball Recap: Espanola Valley Sundevils vs. Moriarty Pintos
Espanola Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 3-1 to the Moriarty Pintos. The Sundevils were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Pintos earlier this season, when they won 3-1.
Espanola Valley started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 18-25, 25-21, 25-23, 25-23.
Moriarty can attribute much of their success to Payten Butler, who had 12 digs. Those 12 digs gave Butler a new career-high.
Espanola Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 7-14. As for Moriarty, they moved to 7-14 with that win, which also ended their four-match losing streak.
