Football Game Preview: Depew Hornets vs. Caddo Bruins + Official Tickets

The Depew Hornets will head out to take on the Caddo Bruins at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Friday, Depew was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 20-14 to Drumright. The Hornets have struggled against the Tornadoes recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Caddo faced Dewar in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Bruins fell just short of the Dragons by a score of 34-32. The matchup marked the Bruins' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Depew will have to contain Cale Wigington as he made an impact in Caddo's last game. He rushed for 257 yards and two TDs while picking up 11.2 yards per carry, and also threw for 150 yards while completing 76.2% of his passes. Wigington's longest rush was for an incredible 87 yards. Bayler Black was another key player, gaining 110 total yards and a touchdown.

Having lost for the first time this season, Caddo fell to 9-1. As for Depew, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.

Depew was dealt a bruising 55-6 loss at the hands of Caddo in their previous matchup back in September of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Wigington, who rushed for 105 yards and three touchdowns on only five carries, and also threw for 167 yards and four TDs on only 13 passes. Now that the Hornets know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
