Softball Recap: San Pedro Triumphs

San Pedro won against South last Thursday with five runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. The San Pedro Pirates narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Bishop Montgomery Knights 5-3. The Pirates haven't had any issues with the Knights recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Caroline Baker looked comfortable as she pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those zero hits allowed gave her a new career-low.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kaitlyn Borges, who scored three runs and stole Three bases. while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in stolen bases. The team also got some help courtesy of Dahlia Davila, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

San Pedro's record now sits at 3-1. As for Bishop Montgomery, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. San Pedro will take on North at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Bishop Montgomery, they will challenge Harvard-Westlake at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Harvard-Westlake: 3.5, Bishop Montgomery: 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
